Met my diet and training goals for the week!
I’m dying to go mountain biking this morning, but there’s nothing I can do about that. My rebuilt rear wheel is back in Orlando, but FedEx won’t be delivering it until Monday. Between the rain and my bike’s mechanical issues it’s been nearly two weeks since I’ve been mountain biking.
My post-vacation mini boot camp has gone very well this week. My goals this week did not specifically include fat loss, and so I was not on a cutting diet or eating in a caloric deficit. What I did want to do this week was eat 100% clean and exercise every single day. I’ve done those things, and I feel great.
Because my bike has been out of commission, all of my cardio this week has been on the recumbent bike. So far I’ve ridden three times for a total of almost 40 miles, and I’m going to ride again this morning. This morning’s ride will put me over 50 miles for the week. After I ride this morning I’m going to be doing about 4 or 5 hours of yard work, so that’s a pretty fair amount of exercise for today.
I also did two weight training workouts this week, one lower body and one upper body. Both workouts were intense and a lot of fun. My leg workout was especially enjoyable because I’ve not done much direct leg training since my cut ended. I figured with my bike out of action there would be no harm in blasting my wheels, and man are they sore right now!
Because of my nine day vacation (which fell across two Sundays), it’s been almost three weeks since my last body fat reading and soft tape measurements. I know I put a little fat on while I was on holiday, and so it will be interesting to see what my stats look like tomorrow morning when I resume my usual Sunday measurements. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m up to around 8% body fat.
