No exercise yesterday; Skull cap is here, initial thoughts.

I took yesterday off from physical activity. I had a lot of work going on, and when there was a lull the idea of a quick indoor HIIT cardio session didn’t sound very appealing. I was actually in the mood to ride, and I decided some skills work out front would be a good way to get some exercise in… that is until I opened the front door and felt as if I’d just walked into a steam room. I guess I just wasn’t in the mood for the heat yesterday. Oh well, at least my diet was very clean!
There’s not too much I can do about the heat and humidity, but one inexpensive piece of equipment that I’m hoping will alleviate the sweat from constantly stinging and blinding my eyes as I ride arrived yesterday: The Halo Protex skull cap with tie. I’m glad I got the model with ties, as that allowed me to dial in a nice, snug custom fit.
The skull cap is comfortable wearing it around the house, but the real test will, of course, be on the trails. Based on the very positive reviews I’ve read online, I think I’m going to be very happy with it. It’s going to be nice not having to deal with extremely irritating eye sting while I’m riding, but–even more importantly–this cap should should improve my vision.
I don’t have a lot of time this morning, but I need to get some trail time in. I’m hoping to wrap up a few things so I can get out there before mother nature sets the oven to “broil”.

John, looking forward to seeing how you like the skull cap out on the trails. I love Halo, and all of mine tie, but are just the headbands. I could really use the skull caps for 5ks, etc.

Thanks guys. I just got back from a really sweaty ride, and I’m very impressed with the Halo. Full story/review in tomorrow’s blog.

Skullcaps are awesome. They make them in white too, which is a little cooler on hot days. I think I have like 5 or 6 of them now. Totally off topic but John have you tried Ben & Jerry’s frozen greek yogurt? Great way to cool down. Peanut Butter Banana is my favorite.

As luck would have it, I am down to just one Skinny Cow. I know what I’m getting next!

The markets around here have them in single serving cups. 140 calories each and that way you dont eat the whole pint.
