On track to exceed my goal of 400 miles for October.
Last month I rode 345.78 miles, which far exceeded the 93.96 miles I rode in August. My goal for October is to ride 400 miles and, barring an injury, that goal will be blown out of the water. So far this month I’ve ridden 23 out of 25 days, and have put in a total of 379.63 miles.
Here are some additional stats for the past three months (click to enlarge):
There are six days remaining in the month, and I’ll probably ride 5 of those days.
I’m going to get a light and fun ride in this morning, and tomorrow I’m doing the “Ride Of The Living Dead” (ROLD) event at the Santos mountain bike park. There are several course options for the ROLD, and I’ll be doing the full 50 mile ride. Assuming I complete the full course, 50 miles will be a new mountain biking distance record for me (my current mountain biking distance record is 41.7 miles, which was set doing the IMBA “Epic” at Santos on September 2, 2012).
When I did the 42 mile Epic I was coming off 10 days with practically no physical activity, and I only had about 5 days to prepare for the ride. This time around my conditioning is an order of a magnitude better that it was when I did the Epic. While 50 dirty miles is never easy, I expect my performance to be very good. I’m really looking forward to the event!
I probably won’t quite hit 500 miles for the month, so that’s going to be next month’s goal.
