I spent the entire weekend working on outdoor projects. I worked from sunrise until sunset on both days, and I accomplished a tremendous amount of work.
Both mornings started of pretty chilly, but after an hour or so the sun warmed things up and my jacket came off. I couldn’t have asked for better weather: pleasantly cool, crystal clear blue skies and lots of sunshine. It’s February 4th, and I now have a pretty nice suntan. 🙂
A couple of days ago I posted a list of outdoor projects I was going to work on this month, and after this past weekend I can cross off a few of the big ones:
Pressure wash the paver driveway and walkway Pressure wash the sidewalks and street-side gutters Pressure wash the house and the rain gutters Pressure wash the backyard fence(front side is done, I still have to do the backyard side)
Our home is on a corner lot, and so the amount of sidewalk and street gutter I have to keep clean is extensive since it runs the entire length of our property. I estimate that I had to pressure wash about 2,000 square feet of sidewalk and gutter, plus the paver driveway and walkway.
Even after doing all this work, I was still feeling motivated after the sun went down, and so I cleaned and organized the pantry… Which reminds me, the list I posted a couple days ago is just the outdoor projects. We’re also doing a complete spring cleaning inside, and that’s always a lot of work, too.
My goal is to have everything done (inside and out) before mid-March. All this work will cut into my cycling and mountain biking time, but that’s OK, it needs to be done.
Speaking of March, I’m probably going to take a week off in the middle of that month: it’s looking likely that my mom and her best friend will be coming to stay with us for a week.
I’m going to go hit the gym and grab a quick workout before work. Today’s workload is not looking too bad, I managed to get completely caught up last week! Of course now that I said that the network gods are certainly chuckling and figuring out which piece of critical equipment they want to mess with…
