Pinched nerve? Wrist and arm are killing me.
I think I pinched a nerve in my right arm while doing all these outdoor spring projects. About a week ago my right arm started falling asleep at night, even when I wasn’t laying on it. That’s continued to happen on and off over the past week. Now I’ve got pretty constant wrist pain that actually goes up into my forearm quite a ways. Yesterday the pain was so bad I couldn’t even carry a cup of coffee from the kitchen to my office, and opening a jar using my right hand was all but impossible.
I’ve been taking Aleve (Naproxen) and alternating ice and heat, all of which seems to provide some relief. This morning the pain is definitely less than it was yesterday morning, but it’s still not pleasant. I’m going to be very careful about using that wrist over the weekend, and will hopefully see some improvement by Monday. If not, I guess I’ll be heading to the doctor. He’ll probably just prescribe some anti-inflammatory medication and tell me to rest it. Which is what I’m already doing.
So, no training today. I’ve got a lot of work to do, but even typing and using the mouse hurts my wrist. I’ll force myself to take regular breaks to ice/heat the wrist.
With the cold front coming in I won’t be able to do any of the planting projects I had planned for the weekend, so that eliminates any temptation to work through the pain. There’s plenty of light-duty indoor projects I can do in the meantime.
