Here comes the cold; Working outside today and tomorrow.
It’s going to be a nice day, but the cold weather is coming tonight. Chances are very high that my area is going to be below freezing for several hours tonight, and probably tomorrow night as well. While I’m glad I have not yet planted the annuals, herbs, peppers and tomatoes, this hard freeze poses a lot of danger to my existing plants. We’ve had such a mild winter that the plants are all in an active growth state right now, and especially vulnerable to the cold. I’ll be covering as much as possible, but covering everything is obviously not practical. In addition to the plants, the turf grass looks outstanding right now, and I suspect it’s going to be 100% brown in a few days. I’m pretty bummed.
We were so close to finally escaping a winter without a hard freeze! Oh well, there’s nothing I can do about it but cover and hope for the best.
My right wrist and arm are still hurting, but I am OK to work on some more of my spring projects. The daytime temperatures are going to be perfect for outdoor work, so I’m going to get out there and get the last of the big jobs banged out. I’ll be careful to not use my right arm as much as possible, and will stop if the pain becomes worse.
Have a great Saturday!
