Trail work day at Mt. Dora tomorrow – come help.
I’m very excited about tomorrow’s work day at the Mt. Dora MTB trails. We’re going to be working on the making the difficult “Red” (Advanced) trail even better! Up until recently this trail was… well, let’s say “hidden”, and not exactly approved by the city (which owns the land). Thanks to the efforts of Mike Simmons and Rob Ern, we were able to get the city’s stamp of approval on the new trail. So now it’s up to us, the volunteers, to make it even more awesome.
This trail is short, but tough. It’s technical, tight, has some difficult climbs and surprising elevation changes. It reminds me a lot of some of the advanced trails at Santos. Having a trail so close to home that is on par with some of the tougher trails as Santos is awesome.
Lunch will be provided by Mt. Dora’s own Pizza Amore, and the Ocala Mountain Bike Association will be tossing in some swag.
So listen up, locals, we need YOU to help make this happen. If you ride and enjoy the Mt. Dora trails, then please come help! We’re going to meet at the end of 11th Avenue (by the dog park) at 8:30 AM tomorrow morning (April 6, 2013). If you have a wheel barrow, please bring it.
