Hope my Zipp arrives before bike festival; Yesterday’s workout; Today’s training.
The Mount Dora Bike Festival is a week from Saturday, and I’m supposed to ride and marshal the 100 mile ride. Unfortunately my rear Zipp wheel is still out for crash replacement (see “Rainy ride leads to wreck. Expensive day.”), and I may not have it back before the 12th. Fingers are crossed. It’s going to be close.
Yesterday was an active day: I had an excellent weight training session, and then did some yard work. I resisted the urge to go heavy on deads for the second week in a row, and instead did some higher rep work, which included a couple sets of breathing squats. Those are always “fun”.
My legs are feeling those squats this morning, but I’m going to go ahead and do the next workout in my cycling training program today. This workout looks pretty tough: two sets of 3×5 minute efforts at FTP, and each of those 5 minute intervals starts with a 12-second sprint @ 150% FTP. Active recovery between each interval is a scant 60 seconds.
I’ve got a busy day ahead, and I’m already behind. I’d better wrap this up and get back to work. Happy Friday!
