Thanksgiving bloat almost gone; Fighting off a cold?
As a result of my Thanksgiving indulgences (which stretched over a couple of days), I was super bloated when I took last Sunday’s measurements and stats. My scale weight was 178 pounds–up 4.6 pounds from the previous Sunday. Even a few of my soft tape measurements had increased slightly.
My Thanksgiving splurge meals were enjoyable, but I can only eat like that for a short time before I start craving grilled chicken breasts and brown rice. I’ve been eating clean and exercising all week long, and so that Thanksgiving bloat–mostly water weight–is now gone. My scale weight this morning was 174.6 pounds, and almost back to what it was before Thanksgiving. It will be interesting to see what my body fat and tape measurements are this Sunday.
On yesterday morning’s ride I was feeling way off. Considering the relatively low average speed I posted (right at 20 MPH), my average heart rate was much higher than it should have been. Added to that, my sinuses were a little stuffy (and still are). Looks like I may be fighting off a cold.
I have a little extra time this morning and was planning to do a pretty intense 50-60 mile ride, but I think I’m going to play it smart and do a shorter ride at a light pace. I actually think exercise is helpful when fighting a mild cold, but very intense exercise is probably not a good idea. I definitely don’t want to let whatever my body is fighting off take hold.
