If you use MyFitnessPal to log your diet and training, and you also use Strava, there is finally a way to link those two accounts. When you link your Strava account to your MFP account, any Strava activities are automatically synced and logged to your MFP account. This excellent time-saving tip was brought to my attention a couple days ago by my Facebook friend, Neil. Thanks, Neil!

If you record your Strava activities using a mobile phone, then simply launch the Strava app, go to “Settings”, select “Link Other Services” and connect to MyFitnessPal:

If you use a Garmin or other device to record your Strava activities, then use the Strava desktop app to link the accounts. Navigate to “Settings” on Strava.com, and link the accounts under “Social Connections”:

I set this up before yesterday’s ride, and it worked perfectly. My Strava ride was automatically synced to MFP, and the correct time and average speed classification was indicated:

I’ll save a discussion of MFP’s silly nomenclature (> 20 mph average is “Racing”?!) for another day.
