Cleat swaps made easy!
After my little slip the other day, I decided to go ahead and swap out my cycling shoe cleats. The old cleats still had a little life left in them, but they were worn enough that I believe they contributed to my fall on the slick tile.
When installing cleats on a new pair of cycling shoes, the alignment takes a little trial and error to get dialed in. Once you’ve got the cleat alignment perfected you’re good for the life of the cleats… but what about when it comes time to swap them out?
This is such a simple and seemingly obvious tip, but I’m surprised how many people are not aware of it. Before swapping out your cleats, simply take a Sharpie and trace around the old ones:
