Recipes on MyFitnessPal
Unfortunately when you add a recipe to your food log on MyFitnessPal, there’s no way for someone else to click on that recipe and see what’s in it. So, for example, if I add the recipe “Chicken Ranch Salad” (which is what I ate last night for Meal #5), the only thing that shows to everyone else is the recipe name and the macro breakdown for the entire recipe. There’s no way that I am aware of to allow my recipes to be seen by other MFP members.
This odd limitation existed when I cut last year, and I’m a little surprised that this year the same shortcoming still exists.
It would be nice if MFP would improve this functionality but, in the meantime, if you’re interested in any of the recipes you see in my food logs they can all be found here on JSF in the Recipe section. So, if you want to know what’s in my Recovery Shake (you do–it’s awesome!) it’s just a couple clicks away.
The only exception to the above is a newer tilapia recipe I’ve been eating. It’s a work in progress, so I’ve not posted the recipe here yet. It’s a nice light dish, with simple ingredients like olive oil, shallots (although I enjoy it with onion or scallions), garlic, tomato and sometimes lime and/or thyme. Like I said, I’m still tweaking it a bit and trying to decide my favorite version before I post the recipe. Look for it soon.
Looks like the cold and rain are coming just in time to ruin my Saturday morning group ride. 🙁 I think I’m going to skip the morning ride, grab a ride a little later in the day and then go long on Sunday.
Happy Friday! 🙂
