Overview of maintenance diet, plans to post complete logs.
Now that my cut is over, I’ve received some requests to post a week or two of my maintenance diet on MyFitnessPal. I think that’s a good idea, and I’m planning to do that.
This week I’m eating extra clean, and I’m even reducing my calories a bit. I’ll still be eating right around maintenance level, but a little less than my usual maintenance caloric intake. So I don’t think this is a good representative week for my maintenance diet. My plan is to post a week, perhaps two, of my complete maintenance diet starting this coming Monday.
On that note, I’ll go ahead and mention that my maintenance diet is not terribly exciting. I mainly eat the same foods that I eat when I’m cutting, just more of them. For example, my breakfast, post-workout smoothy, lunch and afternoon snack (usually oatmeal) are all pretty much carbon copies of my cutting meals. I’ll sometimes have a little extra of this or that, but for the most part it’s all the same. My dinners have a bit more variety, and while still “clean”, I’ll dive a little deeper into the healthy recipes I have here online at JSF (and I’m always trying new stuff, too).
On the weekends things get a little more loose. I tend to do longer rides on the weekend, and so that’s when I like to have a splurge meal or two. You can expect to see movie theater popcorn, pizza or a burger with fries and a few beers during the weekend.
So look for that starting Monday on MyFitnessPal. I’ll mention it again here in my blog on Monday morning.
By the way, I’m still working on the changes to my Bike Torture Chamber that I mentioned in yesterday’s blog. It’s going to take a little more time than I thought to get everything dialed in and photographed, but I should still have that big update ready sometime this week. Look for it on Thursday or Friday.
