I feel like my body has, more or less, stabilized now that I’ve returned to maintenance level calories. Most mornings I weigh in at about 163 pounds, a couple pounds more the morning after a splurge meal, a couple pounds less right after a long, sweaty bike ride.
I don’t know what my current body fat percentage is, as I’ve not taken any measurements (apart from scale weight) since my cut ended nearly a month ago. I’ll be taking a full set of measurements this weekend.
What I can tell you is that whatever my current body fat percentage is, my body seems happy here. I am able to consume enough food to keep me feeling satiated all day long, and well-fueled for my training. My diet has been almost entirely healthy for the past couple weeks, but I’ve enjoyed some extra snacks, some great beers and a couple splurge meals here and there.I’ve been ramping up my cycling training over the past month or so, both in distance and in intensity. I’m now riding close to 300 miles per week on the bike, and that’s definitely allowing me to consume quite a few calories.
Lisa and I have had fun cooking dinner together. A couple of times now we’ve just gone into the kitchen with a general plan, and winged it. We’ve actually come up with some pretty tasty meals that way!
A few days ago I did something similar: I came up with a simple tilapia recipe using caramelized onions and garlic that came out amazing! I’m going to make that again tonight, perhaps with a few tweaks. I may have to add this one to the Recipe Section of JSF. 🙂
Alright, I need to get to work. Lots to do today, but things are still calm after a pretty horrible 5 or 6 days. Hopefully this weekend will be quiet, I could use it.
