Montreal Steak Seasoning to the rescue.
I had some chicken breasts defrosted for dinner last night, but I didn’t have them marinading in anything. I wasn’t in the mood for plain grilled chicken breasts, and I wasn’t really wanting to do any serious cooking. I just wanted something quick, simple and healthy. I decided to whip out an easy, no-calorie seasoning that I use all the time: Montreal Steak Seasoning.
While I would never ruin a beautiful steak by putting anything other than salt and pepper on it, Montreal Steak Seasoning is absolutely awesome on chicken breasts!
This is one of those pantry staples that I always have on-hand because it’s so versicle and useful in situations like last night. While the steak seasoning is an excellent, fast, easy and no-calorie way to enhance the flavor of chicken, it is rather salty. I wish they made a lower sodium version: I’d like to add more of the seasoning than I otherwise do for the salt. It’s not that I’m afraid of a little extra sodium, it just makes the chicken too salty for my tastes.
What I do is sprinkle some of the seasoning on the chicken breasts, add some extra fresh ground black pepper, hit the breasts with a blast of cooking spray and then grill as I normally do.
Mccormick also makes a chicken seasoning, but I actually much prefer the steak seasoning on my chicken. Lisa is in agreement.
A container lasts a very long time, so it’s quiet economical, too. Pick some up and let me know what you think!
