My saddle is falling apart

I have a love/hate relationship with my current saddle, the Selle Italia Max Flite Gel Flow. I purchased the saddle almost exactly two years ago, and for the most part I like it. The main problem is that I’ve had occasional issues with saddle sores, and always felt like the saddle wasn’t an ideal match for me. After the 167 mile Cross-Florida ride, during which my ass was killing me, I decided that the saddle had to go. Well, I never got around to that, and the saddle is still on my bike.

I’ve put more than 20,000 miles on the saddle, and it’s quite literally starting to fall apart:

It's as uncomfortable as it looks. Nothing but metal under that indentation.

This fell out of the saddle the other day.

I did quite a bit of research about a year ago, and I definitely have some new saddle candidates. I have fairly wide sit bones (I forget the measurement, I’ll have to recheck). Also, I am definitely getting a saddle with a perineal cutout; Once I started riding on a saddle with a cutout, the numbness and pressure I experienced on traditional saddles was eliminated.

Saddles are such a personal thing that recommendations generally are not useful past build quality, weight, materials and things of that nature, but feel free to chime with your favorite if you feel so inclined.
