Bike Hand 29er/700c Bike Stand

There are quite a few different types of bike storage solutions, and over the years I’ve used everything from floor stands to wall-mounted, multi-bike stands. Today I want to focus on what I believe is the best single-bike floor stand available: the Bike Hand 29er/700c Bike Stand (YC-109H). The design of this bike stand is incredibly simple, but it’s also very effective.

I started using Bike Hand Bike Stands about a year ago, and they quickly became my favorite method of storing my bikes. It takes less than a second to put a bike in the stand, and less than a second to remove it. Bikes are held securely in place, and the look is clean and unobtrusive. These are excellent stands for displaying your bikes, and that’s why you see them used in many bike shops.

Here’s my Madone mounted in the Bike Hand stand (click to enlarge):

The way the stand works is you simply slide your bike into the stand’s padded slot between the frame and the rear hub. A couple pictures will better illustrate (click to enlarge):

Putting the bike in the stand and removing the bike from the stand takes less than a second.

This stand works great for 26" bikes, 29" bikes and 700c road bikes. Works perfectly with my mountain bike (disc brakes), my fixie and my road bike.

While the stand will hold your bikes securely in most situations, rambunctious kids or animals could conceivably knock everything over, so keep that in mind.

I’m extremely fastidious when it comes to keeping my bikes’ drivetrains clean. I wipe down my chain after every single ride, and I clean and lube chains about every 100 miles (and always after a wet or dirty ride). One of the things I love about this stand is that I can now do those things in my home gym, and I no longer have to take the bike out to my bike shop and put it in the work stand to perform those daily tasks.

I give the Bike Hand Bike Stand an enthusiastic thumbs up, and well-earned spot on my Favorite Things list. If you’re looking for a great single-bike floor stand that will last a lifetime, I think you’ll be very happy with this unit.
