A positive cyclist/motorist story!

I had a fantastic ride yesterday morning with my friends Sebastian and Christopher. I can always count on a fast, fun and challenging ride when I get to roll with those two crazy dudes.

School started back up on Monday, and the traffic, for most of the ride, was extremely heavy. We definitely experienced some close passes, a horn or two and the usual sense that we were not welcome on the roads. 🙁

One notable exception occurred early in the ride. We were on a fairly busy road with rolling hills and no shoulder. Traffic was approaching from the opposite direction, and there was a truck behind us. In this situation the vehicle behind will, unfortunately, usually make an unsafe pass, forcing us perilously close to the edge of the road. In this case, however, the driver of the truck patiently waited until the oncoming traffic passed and gave us the entire lane as he made a safe pass. The passenger even gave a friendly wave as they went by us.

I can’t tell you how much cyclists appreciate people like the fine folks at Butterfly Landscaping. Thank you!

I’ll definitely be giving Butterfly Landscaping a call the next time I have a landscaping project, and I would encourage all my friends in the Apopka area to do the same.
