Overslept (alarm fail), feeling a little better

My alarm failed to sound this morning, and I slept until 5:30 AM. I’m not sure why my phone’s alarm didn’t go off, as it was set properly. I hope it’s a one-off, as I need to be able to rely on the alarm.

The funny thing is I was actually dreaming that my alarm didn’t go off! In my dream I slept until 11:00 AM, and I felt like I’d wasted the entire day. It was really weird when I woke up and saw that, indeed, my alarm somehow malfunctioned and I’d overslept.

I was in bed at 8:00 last night, so that was a solid 9.5 hours of sleep. As I wrote in yesterday’s blog, I was feeling under the weather, so I guess the extra sleep isn’t such a bad thing.

This morning I’m feeling a little better, but definitely still not 100%. I’ll probably go easy on this morning’s ride again today, but I’ll see how I feel after my warm-up. Even though I’m not feeling great, I can’t stand these slow, boring rides.

  1. Maybe you dismissed the alarm in your sleep? I thought my daily phone alarm wasn’t going off, and then I realized I was turning it off without fully waking up. Now I have to answer a math problem to turn off it off.
