Splurge meals to be optional; No alcohol.
I’m feeling so good this week that I’ve decided to change my original plan a little bit: while a maximum of one splurge meal per week is allowable, it’s purely optional. Also, I’ve decided that the splurge snack I was going to allow is not going to happen. If I decide to have movie theater popcorn with a movie, for example, that counts as a splurge meal.
To be perfectly honest I don’t see myself having any cheat meals during this relatively short cut. If I find that I’m feeling depleted, weak or tired I’ll probably opt for a clean refeed day.
Also, I’ve decided that I’m going to continue to abstain from alcohol completely during this cut. Avoiding alcohol while cutting is something I’ve espoused because science has proven, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that consuming alcohol is counter-productive to fat loss. I’ve known this from day one, and so it would be foolish for me to turn my back on that knowledge now, 12 years down the road.
This week has gone extremely well for me so far. As of this morning I’m down 4.8 pounds since Tuesday morning (told you I was bloated!), and I’m feeling excellent. I’m definitely hungry (and sometimes a little loopy) as meal times approach, but that’s par for the course.
