After my short ride yesterday I weighed in at 168.4 pounds. That post-ride weight was a little lower than my current fasted morning weight, but I’m definitely going to be 169.x, or lower, for my “official” weekly weigh-in on Sunday. It feels great to be back down into the 160s on the scale. My body fat calipers should indicate something in the low 8% range by Sunday (last Sunday I was at 8.8%).
I can’t stand it when my vascularity is diminished. I feel like a potato when I can’t see road maps running up and down my arms and calves. I know, it’s a little vain (I’ll do everyone a favor and kindly sidestep the obvious pun), but I can’t help it. When I’m out on a tough ride and I’m on the rivet, looking down and seeing well-defined muscles working hard and prominent vascularity gives me extra power. I’m not kidding about that. Anyone who says that sports performance is entirely physiological-based is ignorant.
At this point in my cut (in the 8% range), every pound I lose until I reach my goal will make a noticeable difference in my definition and vascularity. Because the improvements are so obvious, I really enjoy this stage of a cut. The next 6 or 7 pounds are take me from the above photo, to this one:
Hey, it’s Friday! Here’s another short dog video, which I hope will put a smile on your face. Sonny and Buckley are at it again…
