Century this morning; Here is discipline.
Just a quick blog this morning, as I’m rolling out super early for what I hope will be a fast and exciting century ride.
I expect to burn quite a few calories on today’s ride, and the temptation for a splurge meal this evening will be strong. I may go ahead and have my optional weekly splurge meal tonight, but I’m strongly (90%) leaning towards sticking with my usual cutting diet. I’m nearly done with this cut–perhaps just one more week–and so I’ll probably just wait and have a little popcorn on Sunday afternoon instead of a full-blown splurge.
Normally when I start a cut I make sure there are no serious temptations left in the house. This time, though, I had a couple of beers left in the fridge. These guys have been taunting me for five weeks:
Pretending those brews don’t exist has not been terribly difficult during the work week, but on weekend afternoons? Especially on days when I’ve done a long, hard ride? Definitely an 8 or a 9 on the Self Discipline scale. I’m sure after today’s long ride I’ll be tempted, but they’re just going to have to sit in there another week or two.
