Spring time at the Stones’: Tomatoes and Toads. The tomato plants are loaded with flowers and young tomatoes. The foliage looks incredible!

I woke up at 6:00 AM this morning, and it’s been a very productive morning so far. I’ve already trained (back/biceps/abs), showered, eaten, got some of today’s work done and even taken some photographs for this morning’s blog. Spring is my favorite time of year, and a big part of the reason for that is my love of nature and gardening. Right now everything from the plants to the numerous creatures in our back yard… [Read more]

Post-cut weight has finally stabilized. 700LGb

It’s coming up on three weeks since my cut ended, and if you read this past Sunday’s blog you know that I continued to drop fat after ending my cut. After my cut ended I slowly increased my daily caloric intake, kept my diet very clean (just one splurge meal over the past three weeks) and my activity level continued to be very high. All those factors combined are why I kept dropping fat even… [Read more]

Tired, lazy day yesterday; Feeling good this morning! moon-sleep-health

The poor night of sleep I had Monday night just destroyed me yesterday. I mentioned in yesterday’s blog that I was going to do some cardio on the recumbent bike, but after the coffee buzz died down my energy levels rapidly plummeted… I decided to skip the cardio. All day yesterday I felt really tired, unfocused and completely out of it. I had to resist the urge to take a nap because I knew that… [Read more]

Beautiful foggy morning; Back in the gym after 2 weeks off. Beautiful foggy morning.

I woke up a little before 4:00 AM this morning and my mind was going about a million miles per hour. About 4:30 AM I decided to give up on trying to fall back asleep, and I got some work done while I drank an entire pot of coffee. As the sun started to come up I noticed that the lot across the street from my house was layered in fog, and looked absolutely beautiful!… [Read more]

Skip this blog if you’re dieting: I had my first splurge meal of the year yesterday. Terrible photograph, excellent fajitas!

Yesterday I had my very first splurge meal of the year, and it was absolutely incredible. We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, and I ordered the same thing I always get: steak fajitas. While we waited for our food I ate about 100 pounds of warm corn chips with fresh salsa while sipping from a margarita on the rocks. When our food came I devoured every bite of the fajitas, and then went right… [Read more]

April 2012 Transformation Spotlight of the Month: “FatLenny”! April 2012 Transformation Spotlight: FatLenny!

Tomorrow is my usual weekly maintenance progress report, so I’m posting the April 2012 Transformation Spotlight a day early. For the April 2012 Transformation Spotlight I’ve selected forum member “FatLenny” (Terry). At just 35 years old, Terry was morbidly obese, extremely unhealthy and facing what was certain to be a very short and unhealthy life. When Terry began his transformation he weighed in at a scale-busting 336 pounds. Now, just 1.5 years later, Terry has… [Read more]

More trail riding; I’m below 170 pounds and probably right at 5% body fat. It's called "Gravity Destroyer" on the way down, but I call it "Leg Destroyer" on the trip back up.

I’ve been mountain biking almost every day over the past two weeks, and I’m having a blast! I rode at Wekiwa on Tuesday, and on the 3 mile timed section I turned in a time of 13m07s. At first I was very disappointed that I didn’t break my existing personal record of 12m48s, but 13m07s is my second best time ever, and I definitely rode as hard as I could. Nothing to be ashamed of,… [Read more]

Time off from lifting; Aches and pains are gone; Freedom for sustainability. Don't put yourself in a diet and training prison!

Ten straight weeks of hard weight training with no breaks was very taxing on my body. Thankfully I completed my 2012 cut with no serious injuries, but I was definitely feeling pretty beat up by the time I completed my cut. I took last week off from weight training, and I’m taking this week off from training, too. I think a week off from weight training every 8 weeks or so is very beneficial, and… [Read more]
